Good Morning! And Happy New Year. It’s January 1, 2018, 8:12 AM in Arizona, and cold/crisp.
I usually don’t write down new resolutions. But I set goals for myself and my business. I do go over the past year and see what I’ve accomplished and what I missed. Often, to my surprise, I’ve accomplished more than I realized. And sometimes good things happen through no effort on my part. Though I’m not as adept at the computer as I would like to be, one of the perks is meeting so many people, connecting, sharing ideas, and seeing the progress that can be made. It is truly inspiring.
So how can I inspire you today? If you’re reading this blog, chances are you’re in some stage of retirement. Thinking about it…just stepping out…been at it awhile, and thinking you could use some help with a problem?
For me, 2018 will be a year of digging in and creating resources for fellow retirees. The economy is better than a few years ago. But the prospects for the older generation aren’t always great. We’re finding that our savings, combined with social security and maybe a pension really don’t keep up with the cost of living. It’s especially difficult for single women. According to the Department of Labor, for 27.4 percent of women age 65 and over, social security benefits comprise 90 percent of their total income. It’s not enough.
Women and money is a large topic of interest for me. I am single and still working. I like what I do – building a business on the internet – but it sure is an iffy proposition.
If you’re thinking of starting a business – male or female – there are resources to give you facts and ideas. This article on Business News Daily can give you a good overview. Research is one of my favorite things. I have already compiled a list of resources and will continue to send ideas/solutions on to you. A business isn’t the only option to consider. Stay tuned and chat with me.
What do you need to know that I can help you with? It’s a brand New Year. A great time to Embrace Change.
Sending you best wishes for 2018.
